Windows & doorsin Newcastle
Windows and doors for Newcastle homes, from Tyneside flats in Heaton to 1930s semis in Gosforth and Kenton.

A city of terraces, flats and semis
Newcastle’s housing tells its history. Heaton, Sandyford and Arthur’s Hill are full of Tyneside flats, the pairs of front doors side by side that you see on almost every terraced street east and west of the centre. Jesmond and parts of Gosforth have larger Victorian and Edwardian houses with bays and sash windows. Further out, Fenham, Kenton and Westerhope are mostly 1930s and post-war semis.
Each one needs a different approach, and that’s where a proper survey matters.
What we fit in Newcastle
Tyneside flats
With two front doors next to each other, upstairs and downstairs flats often want doors that match or at least sit well together. If you own both, or you’re agreeing with your neighbour, we can fit a matching pair of composite doors. Bay windows on the ground floor and sash windows upstairs are common too.
Victorian and Edwardian houses
In Jesmond, Heaton and High West Jesmond, sliding sash windows and bay windows keep the front looking right. Parts of Jesmond are conservation areas, so check with Newcastle City Council before changing the style of windows facing the street.
1930s and post-war semis
In Fenham, Kenton, Fawdon and Westerhope, most homes suit casement windows, often with a bay at the front. Anthracite grey windows with a matching front door are a popular update on these houses.

Do you work across the whole of Newcastle?
Yes, from Newburn and Westerhope in the west to Walker and Byker in the east, and north to Gosforth and Fawdon.
I live in a Tyneside flat. Can I change my front door?
If you own the flat, usually yes. If it’s leasehold, check your lease, because the freeholder’s permission may be needed. We can fit a single door or a matching pair.
