Frequently asked questions

Can’t see your question? Call 07733 408235 and ask.

Do you charge for a quote?

No. The survey and the quote are both free, and there’s no obligation to go ahead. We’ll measure up, talk you through the options and give you a written price.

Are you FENSA registered?

Yes. We register every window and door installation with FENSA, which means the work meets Building Regulations and you receive a FENSA certificate. Keep it safe, because solicitors ask for it when you sell your home.

What guarantee do I get?

Every job is backed by a HomePro insurance-backed guarantee of up to £15,000. That cover protects you even if the installer is no longer trading. The products also carry their manufacturers’ own guarantees, which we’ll explain with your quote.

Which areas do you cover?

Most of the North East: Newcastle, Gateshead, South Shields, Jarrow, Hebburn, Sunderland, Whitley Bay, Durham, Cramlington, Northumberland and the towns in between. If you’re not sure, check our areas or just ask.

Can you repair windows and doors you didn’t fit?

Often, yes. Customers ring us with sticking doors, failed locks and misted glass. Call or WhatsApp a photo of the problem and we’ll tell you whether it’s a repair or a replacement.

Do I need planning permission for new windows or doors?

Usually not, if you’re replacing like for like on a house. You may need permission if the building is listed, in a conservation area with extra restrictions, or a flat. We’ll flag it at the survey, and your council can confirm.

How do I book a survey?

Call 07733 408235, message us on WhatsApp, or send the form. We’ll arrange a time that suits you.

Do you take the old windows and doors away?

Yes. We remove the old frames, glass and doors and take them away with us.

What’s the difference between composite and uPVC doors?

Composite doors have a solid core inside a tough skin, so they’re thicker, heavier and look more like timber. uPVC doors are lighter and more affordable. See composite doors and uPVC doors.

What is a FENSA certificate and why does it matter?

It shows that your replacement windows or doors meet Building Regulations. Solicitors usually ask for it when you sell, so keep it with your house documents. We register every job and the certificate is sent to you.

Can you fit coloured windows?

Yes. Anthracite grey, black, cream and woodgrain finishes are all available, and many can be white on the inside. See windows.

Do you replace fascias, soffits and guttering?

Yes. We strip out old timber and fit uPVC fascias, soffits, bargeboards, gutters and downpipes. See roofline.
